Not surprising, my request to interview the spokesperson for the Mexican Department of Defense has been declined because "they do not have physical evidence or objects that relate to UFOs." However, they did confirm the Air Force sighting. Read their response below. I've included their original response on PDF (in Spanish), signed by the Brigadier General Mario Lucio González Cortés, spokesperson for the Mexican Government Department of Defense. I will try again with a different approach. For the original document on PDF: CLICK HERE.
In response to your request to be granted an interview to try the theme for sightings of unidentified flying objects in the Bay of Campeche in 2004, we are unable to grant such an interview due to prior engagements.
Also, we are aware that the Secretariat has no physical evidence or objects that relate the sighting of UFOs, taking only recorded observation of luminous objects in the state of Campeche 5 Mar. 2004, which were detected by a video by staff of the Mexican Air Force on the concept that the information was subsequently provided in its original format to journalist Jaime Maussan, who in turn, sent IT to the various centers of research on the subject, which was of unknown nature.
I would like to take this opportunity to send a cordial greeting and the renewed assurances of my highest and careful consideration to your request..
Brig. Gen. D.E.M., Mario Lucio González Cortés"
